Biography:
During his long and illustrious career with Time Inc., Reginald Brack transformed the company, in the process becoming a leading authority on management in the communications industry as well as society's shift towards the "information age". In his thirty-five year progression up through the Time corporate ladder, Brack demonstrated a flair for improving operational performance and leading innovative transformations in publications as well as management. As Chairman and CEO (1986-1994) of the world's largest publishing company, Brack presided over an increase in Time's revenues from $2.1bn to $3.4bn. Such success was thanks to Brack's strategy to transform Time Inc. into a customer focused corporation and to undertake numerous successful magazine launches.
During his tenure Brack sought to promote women to key executive positions long denied them and played a key role in voluntary publishing organisations, for which he has been honoured. Brack has also made distinguished contributions to service organisations, including Chairmanships with the Urban League, which is devoted to assisting African-Americans in the achievement of social and economic equality, and the Business Council for International Understanding. He is also prominent within the Sierra Club, Center for Strategic and International Studies and the Americans for Humanitarian Trade with Cuba Advisory Council.
