Biography:
Marc Luyckx has spent much of his career in future studies. Luyckx's main research is on the cultural, philosophical and ethical implications for society of global political and economic changes in societies world-wide.
Having started out in Prospective, a trans-disciplinary think-tank for future studies, Luyckx joined the European Commission in 1989. Luyckx's study unit, the European Commission's Forward Studies Unit, reports directly to the Commission's Presidency. A Belgian, Luyckx obtained a PhD in Russian Philosophy in Italy and has been active in on-going education in Belgium and Brazil.
