Biography:
Joyce Neu has earned wide respect as both an authority and practitioner of conflict resolution methods. She is the Associate Director of the Carter Center's Conflict Resolution Program; in which capacity she has facilitated discussions between conflicting parties in Bosnia, Estonia, Ethiopia, Mali and Sudan. In 1994 she accompanied Former US President Carter to Bosnia where they obtained a four-month cease-fire.
Widely published in the areas of negotiations and intercultural communications, Neu is active in the academic community, particularly in conflict resolution and negotiation. She has taught at the University of California, Penn State, been a Fulbright Senior Lecturer and is on a variety of academic boards. Early in her career, Neu taught English in Senegal as a Peace Corps volunteer.
