Biography:

Physics Professor George Sudarshan has been at the University of Texas since 1969 During that period he has also held other positions at the Indian Institute of Sciences and Institute of Mathematical Sciences.

Educated at Madras and Rochester Universities, Sudarshan has received a number of honorary degrees, has been decorated by the President of India with the Order of the Lotus and was awarded the First Prize in Physics from the Third World Academy of Sciences. His areas of expertise in Physics are broad-ranging and include quantum and particle physics.
