Having trained as a marine zoologist, worked as a naturalist guide in the Galapagos Islands, led anthropological and natural history expeditions in South America and toured the Indian Sub-Continent, David Whyte now writes full-time. His four books of poetry already published have been critically acclaimed. Whyte continues to write poetry, working from his home in Washington State.

A native of England, Whyte leads poetry and walking tours in both England and Ireland. He is perhaps best known in the corporate world for his attempts to bring the power of poetry to bear in organisational development and creativity workshops. His clients include American and international corporations such as AT&T, Kodak and Boeing. His recent work The Heart Aroused: Poetry and the Preservation of the Soul in Corporate America has been well-received.
