Investing in Women

The Forum is developing an initiative to address one of the most urgent challenges to human development, namely, the ways and means of transforming structures and ideologies that oppress women and distort the role of men. The Forum will emphasize the traditional women's issues, now often marginalized in social and political discourse, and will promote their integration into the mainstream, convinced that they will serve as a compelling leverage for building civil society.

The goal of this initiative is twofold:

  • To identify and promote the systemic link between empowering women and sustainable development, especially the development of civil society; and
  • To promote investments in women, including capital investment in womens development based on values and ethical norms that are conductive to women's integration in the processes that lead to social, political, economic, and cultural decisions.
